Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center is looking for a hands-on, brand and user-savvy Director of Design/Interactives to join our Design & User Experience (UX) team within Communications & Marketing. This team supports the mission of Fred Hutch and engages diverse audiences through smart and purposeful design that drive organizational goals. Your work should not only reflect that ideal but raise the bar to create extraordinary visuals, videos and branded campaigns.
In this senior role, you will lead a team of designers and multimedia producers to craft immersive online experiences, create new digital/print products, shape brand expressions and campaigns and develop innovative ways to drive engagement across a wide range of audiences, including scientific peers, patients and families, philanthropic donors, industry and health care delivery partners, and policymakers.
As a visual storyteller and brand ambassador, you will conceptualize and build insightful data visualizations, pitch interactive features and parlay your technical expertise to bring projects to life across departments, platforms and channels. You must possess a clean, yet distinctive design sensibility, a focus on user behavior and a knack for creating operational efficiencies to manage the steady volume of weekly project requests.
In this fast-moving, agency-like setting, you will be working alongside a talented and dedicated team of web producers and developers, writers, media relations and social media managers, and marketers, as well as partnering with other managers across the organization. You will help shape, evolve and execute brand guidelines and creative strategy, analyze needs, problem-solve across the design process, and roll up your sleeves to get the job done. You will help apply and maintain the center’s visual standards across all mediums (website, email, video, social, print).
