    The Chen Research Group is within the Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, and Epidemiology Program (BBE) of the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Division (VIDD) of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. A hallmark of the Chen Group is the collective pursuit of excellence in quantitative scientific research that employs biostatistics, bioinformatics, epidemiology, and mathematical modeling to better answer questions on human infectious disease processes and prevention.


    We are seeking a motivated Research Project Coordinator to coordinate administrative and project-specific activities in support of an active research portfolio. Salary will be commensurate to experience.


    In this position, you will be able to use and develop your current skills and knowledge to support the teams growing research assignment needs for all aspects and stages of the investigator's portfolio.

    Coordinate research and administrative activities, working with the group PI and members to ensure projects are completed according to project/study timelines

    • Serve as project/study liaison, representing the project/study to other Center departments, funding sources, affiliated individuals or institutions, and outside organizations. Helping the leadership follow up team members and collaborator deliverables
    • Organize regular status meetings with project teams and provide meeting reminders, room, and AV support
    • Maintain and update the AEM website and the SharePoint Site Collection
    • Develop, review, edit, and revise templates, standardized materials and documentation relating to processes and procedures, WPGs & SOPs as needed in support of specific research projects including SharePoint Site Collection app documentation
    • Oversee the development and distribution of Chen Group monthly newsletter
    • Track study progress as well as team conference presentations and publications
    • Plan events and team building exercises
    • Assist with the coordination of the submission of pre-award material, study results, articles, and manuscripts for publication, proofreading portions of articles/manuscripts as required


    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s of Science (BS) in a related field of study
    • Minimum 2 years of work experience, preferably within research or academic environment, working on project coordination, administration, or management related task
    • Must have demonstrated the ability to work independently and take the initiative in a dynamic environment. However, recognize when to consult appropriate individuals
    • Familiar with working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams
    • Previous experience working with international collaborators a plus
