    The research technician will primarily work on several ongoing research projects that involve cancer biology, translational pathology and molecular biology. This is an ideal position for a recent graduate who is intellectually motivated, works well independently and will seek out advice when needed.


    This is a half-time position with some flexibility on hours.


    • DNA isolation, PCR and DNA sequencing
    • Routine molecular biology including DNA manipulation, Gel electrophoresis, Immunoblotting
    • Cell culture and manipulation with viral constructs
    • Pathologic procedures including, immunofluorescence, immunohistology (IHC) and in situ hybridization
    • Flow cytometry and cell sorting
    • Bioinformatics including identification of DNA mutations
    • Other responsibilities include general lab maintenance (ordering supplies, lab organization), and other duties as needed


    • Bachelor’s degree in a biological science is required and bench research experience recommended
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • Good interpersonal skills
    • To be successful in this position, the technician must have scientific curiosity and be self-motivated, have good organizational skills, the ability to work and think independently, and able to follow directions as well as trouble-shoot when needed
