A Clinical Research Division laboratory that studies hematopoietic cell biology and develops novel gene therapy and gene editing strategies is recruiting a Research Technician II to assist with cell culture, gene transfer studies, and molecular studies. The position involves additional responsibilities, such as processing of primary tissue samples, and culture/analysis of cells infected with HIV and related viruses. The candidate should be motivated to participate in sample processing both from preclinical modeling experiments as well as clinical trials. This position affords the motivated technician an opportunity to develop/utilize both tissue culture and molecular biology skills.
A Bachelor's degree is required/Master’s degree is preferred, in a biological science with at least two years of laboratory experience with primary T-cell cultures. Experience with virology assays e.g. viral outgrowth assays, in vivo studies, flow cytometry, and/or molecular biology techniques is also desired. Previous experience in gene therapy/gene editing, hematopoietic cell cultures, and/or project management is desired, but not required.
