The Flow Cytometry Operator assists in providing flow cytometry services to Fred Hutch laboratories. 


  1. Maintain, calibrate and operate the flow cytometers to meet established performance and safety standards.
  2. Perform periodic instrument maintenance.
  3. Assist with data transfer and analysis and manage files on the network.
  4. Provide assistance to investigators as necessary.                  
  5. Run samples for investigators as requested.
  6. Perform other duties as required.


The incumbent works under the limited supervision of the Flow Cytometry Director, following established procedures in performing daily responsibilities.


Bachelor's degree in a physical or biological science or equivalent work experience.  Familiarity with or experience in optical systems, instrument analysis, computers or molecular and cell biology strongly desired.  Experience in flow cytometry or related area desired.
