The HIV Vaccine Trials Network located at the Fred Hutch is seeking a Senior Scientific Administrator to be the organizations administrative liaison to its stakeholders. The HVTN is the world’s largest publicly funded multi-disciplinary international collaboration facilitating the development of vaccines to present HIV/AIDS. The HVTN operates in over 60 locations nationally and internationally conducting all phases of clinical trials from evaluating experimental vaccines for safety and immunogenicity to testing vaccine efficacy. The HVTN leadership operations center is based at Fred Hutch in Seattle, Washington. The HVTN primarily supports HIV vaccine research and development across partner institutions through administration of a cooperative agreement grant with DAIDS/NIAID/NIH.
HVTN Leadership Operations Chief of Staff will lead the overall scientific administration of the HVTN, including its leadership committee’s data reporting and importantly preparation for and coordination of the competing renewal application due in 2019. This position provides direct support to the HVTN Executive Management Team and main areas of focus of the position will include building professional capacity to support science, recruiting professional staff and developing and implementing programs to increase collaboration across the Network. Goals of the organization and cross reporting and collaboration is required at all levels. As the organization is at the forefront of translational medicine, this position requires a scientific background and degree.
